About Certification
In order to better understand the necessity of food safety training and continuous education for food managers, it is important to understand what food protection managers actually do and what their role is in different food establishments.
A food manager is a person in charge of keeping the food establishments up to the FDA food code, as well as the New Mexico food safety code as required by the Health Department. Food management professionals make sure to protect the public and local health and to prevent foodborne illnesses.
In order to successfully conduct those tasks, food managers need to be knowledgeable and aware of all the regulations and best practices of the foodservice industry. And that is exactly what our food protection manager certification courses are for.
We update you on all the latest practices and often-changing regulations and teach you how to adequately apply them into your work. The classes are taught by experienced industry leaders, who will bring you highly practical and invaluable insights.
The food protection manager certification exams we offer include the ServSafe® food manager exam and the NRFSP Exam. Both are nationally accredited exams, approved by the American National Standards Institute and the Conference for Food Protection (ANSI-CFP).
Mandatory certification requirements for food management, according to the New Mexico Health Department, include passing the food protection manager certification exam. Food safety training courses, on the other hand, are not stated as mandatory certification requirements for a certified food protection manager, even though we always strongly encourage them.
So far, our candidates have shown great interest in continuous professional food safety manager training and have received tremendous value from them. Have a look at what we offer and choose what fits your needs best!
